Amsterdam Wine Tasting Raises Over $2,000 for Ovarian Cancer Research

An intimate gathering in Amsterdam proved that small events can make a big difference in the fight against ovarian cancer.

Last April 12, Not These Ovaries in partnership with De Vino Root Wine Events and Clapham Specialty Coffee hosted an exclusive wine tasting featuring selections from women-owned wineries, raising $2,192 for critical research.

The sold-out event brought together attendees at Clapham Specialty Coffee in Amsterdam for an evening of exceptional wines and purposeful conversation. Guests sampled eight premium wines not available in stores while learning about our mission to fund research for ovarian cancer subtypes that currently have no FDA-approved treatments.

The energy in the room was electric as attendees savored each pour and connected over a shared commitment to advancing ovarian cancer research. Alex Kroeger, Not These Ovaries board member, played a key role in bringing this event to life, helping to create an atmosphere that balanced enjoyment with education about our cause.

A highlight of the evening was the auction of seven special bottles, which significantly contributed to the fundraising total. True to our commitment, 100% of these proceeds will go directly to research and trials, specifically supporting our ongoing research project at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach, Florida.

This Amsterdam gathering follows the success of our inaugural dinner at Nikai in the Harbour Club earlier this year, continuing our innovative approach to fundraising through exceptional experiences in exclusive venues.

The wine tasting was made possible through the expertise of Anna from De Vino Root, who curated a selection highlighting female winemakers from around the world. This aligns perfectly with our mission, as we specifically focus on ovarian cancer types that affect younger women, including low-grade serous ovarian cancer and borderline ovarian tumors.

For those interested in learning more about borderline ovarian tumors, we recommend reading our comprehensive guide to borderline ovarian cancer or exploring what makes low-grade serous ovarian cancer different from other types.

We maintain a balanced approach to donor communication, so be sure to subscribe to our newsletter for updates on future events and research developments.
